A Scorpio in Power! Anna Wintour VOGUE Editor in Chief 'The Devil's Where Prada'
Anna Wintour, is the English editor-in-chief of American Vogue, a position she has held since 1988. In 2013, she became artistic director for Condé Nast, Vogue's publisher. With her trademark pageboy bob haircut and sunglasses, Wintour has become an important figure in much of the fashion world, widely praised for her eye for fashion trends and her support for younger designers. Her reportedly aloof and demanding personality has earned her the nickname "Nuclear Wintour", spoofing on the rather more serious phenomenon of nuclear winter.
Wintour is a Scorpio maybe with Scorpio rising (Time of birth unknown). She is a secretive personality with stability in appearance that trademark look with the big sunglasses and bob haircut. Scorpios are very private and like power and can be transform from their ashes but put that Scorpio Sun in a challenging square with Pluto up in the Midheaven Career and there you have a woman in power. Pluto is link to nuclear power and is funny that her nickname was ‘Nuclear Wintour’!
Also that Mars (Fighter, Survivor, demanding in Virgo up in the 10th House Career with Saturn(authority, control) make so much sense of the importance for her about the career woman. Both rulers of the chart Pluto and Mars(Co-ruler of Scorpio) are up there close to Midheaven(Career). So against the power, pioneer, fighter all up in the Career is strong indication that career plays important part of her life.
That Venus(fashion, beauty, tastes) in Sagittarius(questing) opposing Uranus(breaking through, difference, rebellion) energy work out quite well for her career wise and for the fashion world! Not sure how that impact her personal life since Venus (love, relationships) opposing Uranus(freedom, shock changes)…venus ruling her 7th House relationships.
A former personal assistant, Lauren Weisberger, wrote the 2003 best selling roman à clef The Devil Wears Prada, later made into a successful film starring Meryl Streep as Miranda Priestly, a fashion editor, believed to be based on Wintour. In 2009, she was the focus of another film, R.J. Cutler's documentary The September Issue.
